A fresh 48 session is not a session dealing with a new kitchen recipe. It is not a session about a new soap or a fabulously clean laundry room. A fresh 48 session is a session about the first moments and details of a babies life at the hospital.
One of the things that is so true for your newborn is that it changes so incredibly much during that first week that you cannot believe how different your new person looks on day 10 vs day 2. This is why I always recommend having someone photograph your new baby very soon after it is born, about the first week it is born, and as much as you can after that. A new kind of session on the horizon is called the “Fresh 48” and is fun because you can grab those new baby details, moments, and vibes within those first 48 hours. Contact me for more details about how you can book me for your new babies Fresh 48 session. These sessions are less expensive than a birth session, and more affordable than a newborn portrait session. But, in my opinion they are the most important. If I could go back to when I was in the hospital on those first days, I wish I would have taken more pictures. More pictures of his toes, elbows, sleeping in his first bed, the hospital bassinet.
I highly recommend hiring myself, or anyone you trust to capture beautiful photographs of those very first moments! These sweet babies change so-so fast!
Here are some beautiful images from baby Adeline’s “Fresh 48” session. If you are a new expecting mother and are thinking of having a similar session please reach out and ask me any questions you want! If you want suggestions on where you can get a beautiful postpartum robe that is comfortable and presentable, check out these robes at Dilliards. If you are looking for something with a floral print, take a look at these mommy & me matching swaddle and robe sets. There are so many ways you can make those first moments special- from super simple, to a tad more “extra”. If you want something beautiful and soft, I also love these from this company PinkBlush! Listen, you won’t waste one penny on your maternity robe. I still use mine and I bought it 7 years ago. Invest in one. They are thin, breathable, and so soft for some reason. I don’t know why they don’t make these for every type of human. I highly recommend getting a maternity robe with that wonderful tie in front.
Nothing can mess up a “Fresh 48 ” session and anything works because you are capturing priceless moments, and I absolutely love that!
